The Lake Travis is a famous reservoir in Central Texas of the Colorado River. This lake was created in 1942 in line of the Mansfield Dam construction along the western margins of Austin. It is considered to be the largest of the 7 other reservoirs in Central Texas. The water levels of the lake can thus vary significantly, depending on the volume of rainfall in the upstream basin of Colorado River.
