Broken Spoke—Home to Real Country Music

If there’s another place to visit in Austin, then it has to be the Broken Spoke. This is perhaps the oldest existing dance hall in all of Austin, Texas and which has a very good sense of musical history for many generations now.

The hall of the Broken Spoke is mainly well-known for its authentic and conventional country music, played well by country music enthusiasts. People can dance and listen to country music as they enjoy a wonderful meal with friends and families. This place is very unique on its own as compared to other newly established bars and restaurants in Austin. It has its own trend which was directed at the past with very little influence with today’s usual setting.

This very traditional place was previously run Annetta and James White since 1964. The Broken Spoke is not only well-known for its amazing country music which we already know, but the place is also known to serve real good Texan food.  During the past years, this place has also been a wonderful host to some famous country music legends and superstars such as Bob Wills, Ernest Tubb, and Roy Acuff. The place also provides opportunities for newcomer country musicians to play their music. Kitty Wells and Kris Kristofferson are two amazing celebrities which will be forever remembered as major contributors of good music at the Broken Spoke.

Though country music is not everyone’s music delight, the Broken Spoke is still worth visiting. The traditional and country atmosphere of the place, puts it to one of Austin’s best attractions.
